It didn't take long for Rick Rovegno to encounter his first Scottish Highlands storm.
On the second day of a solo eight-day 140-mile hike across that rugged landscape, he was scaling the slope of Ben Lomond, one of many rugged 1,000-foot-high 'hills' he'd have to traverse.
